First things first- understand that YOU are a designer…the way you place your furniture, the way you set the table, the way you select your outfit in the morning…yes, YOU!
Your personality influences your everyday design. For example, try this out: let’s say there is woman who is a list-making, carpool scheduler, & in the field of accounting as a career… we probably have a good idea of what her home looks like, right? Tidy, functional, on schedule, and full of routine. While most of us find these things desirable…keep in mind she may not have a home that is aesthetically pleasing. Color, accessorizing, and art may be a challenge for her. Adding a couple of vibrant orange throw pillows on her neutral sofa might be a risk… but it may also remind her to be spontaneous…take the kids outside for a game of kickball in the sprinklers, leave notes for her husband around the house, schedule a girls night out with her closest friends!
We influence design & design influences our lives. Think about the place where you spend most of your time…does it represent you and/or your family? Remember…you are the lead designer in your own life (we are just here to help)… make it beautiful friends!
